Indian Community in Japan Playing Key Role in Strengthening India-Japan Ties: Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the Indian community in Tokyo, Japan, acknowledging their role as 'Brand Ambassadors' in strengthening bilateral ties. During his visit, accompanied by a large business delegation of over 200 representatives, discussions with Japanese companies focused on advanced technologies, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. The Minister highlighted India's economic transformation, its demographic dividend with a median age of 29, the vision for a developed nation by 2047, and growing opportunities for skilled Indian professionals in Japan across sectors like caregiving, engineering, and IT. He also noted the diaspora's economic contributions through remittances, the government's commitment to the welfare and safety of citizens abroad, and past evacuation efforts during international crises.
