Goa Shipyard Limited hands over ICGS Ajit to Indian Coast Guard

Goa Shipyard Limited has formally handed over ICGS Ajit (Yard 1277), a state-of-the-art Fast Patrol Vessel, to the Indian Coast Guard. Built with over 65 percent indigenous content, the 51.43-metre-long vessel features twin marine diesel engines driving controllable pitch propellers, a top speed exceeding 27 knots, and an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles. Operated by a crew of 6 officers and 35 sailors, the vessel is designed for maritime security missions including fisheries protection, Exclusive Economic Zone surveillance, coastal patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, and search and rescue operations.
