BLOs are the foundational pillars of India’s democracy: CEC Gyanesh Kumar

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow. The CEC described BLOs as foundational pillars of Indian democracy and repositories of trust and transparency in electoral processes, serving as the first interface between the Election Commission of India and citizens. Highlighting the recent Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in Uttar Pradesh completed in April, it was noted that over 1.77 lakh BLOs, along with concurrent audits by over 5.82 lakh Booth Level Agents, facilitated the inclusion of over 13.39 crore electors in the final electoral roll.
