Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur Celebrates 10 Years of UPI, Says Phone Has Become the Wallet of Every Indian

Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, celebrated the completion of 10 years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). In a post on 'X', the Union Minister stated that while carrying cash was previously a necessity, the mobile phone has now become the wallet for every Indian. She highlighted that UPI has simplified payments across various sectors—from tea stalls and college canteens to villages and large enterprises—enabling transactions characterized by ease, speed, zero hassle, and few taps.
