DDWS Organises Tenth Edition of Sujal Gram Samvad

The Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, organised the tenth edition of the multilingual 'Sujal Gram Samvad' to foster direct interaction with Gram Panchayat representatives and local communities on the operation and maintenance (O&M) of rural drinking water systems under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0. The event emphasized community-led water governance, Jan Bhagidari, the devolution of Funds, Functions, and Functionaries (3Fs) under the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, and the role of Village Water & Sanitation Committees. Representatives from four Gram Panchayats across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana shared local initiatives including user charges, automated timers, technical training, and water quality testing.
