INDIAN NAVY SET TO COMMISSION SECOND INDIGENOUS DIVING SUPPORT VESSEL 'NIPUN'

The Indian Navy is scheduled to commission 'Nipun', the second Diving Support Vessel (DSV) of the Nistar-class, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on August 31, 2026. Designed and constructed indigenously by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam, the vessel was delivered to the Navy on July 30, 2026. Nipun is built to support a wide range of deep-sea diving and underwater operations, including submarine rescue operations, and features modern systems for navigation, platform management, and precise station-keeping.
