2nd India-New Zealand Defence Strategic Dialogue held in Wellington

The second edition of the India-New Zealand Defence Strategic Dialogue was held in Wellington on August 24, 2026. Co-chaired by Joint Secretary Shri Amitabh Prasad and New Zealand Deputy Secretary Mr Richard Schmidt, the dialogue focused on advancing maritime security, joint military training, and bilateral defence cooperation under the India-New Zealand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2030. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region and discussed expanding military-to-military engagement, cross-service personnel exchanges, joint capital procurement insights, and defence staff college partnerships.
