Department of Consumer Affairs launches nationwide training programme on Legal Metrology reforms

The Department of Consumer Affairs has launched a nationwide capacity-building training programme for Legal Metrology Officers to ensure uniform, effective, and transparent implementation of recent reforms, including the decriminalisation of provisions under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Jan Vishwas reforms. Implemented via the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology (IILM), Ranchi, the specialised five-day training courses aim to cover officers from all States and Union Territories over the next four months, balancing ease of doing business with robust consumer protection.
