Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) and PHARMEXCIL Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Boost Legitimate Pharmaceutical Exports and Strengthen Regulatory Cooperation

The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Gwalior. The agreement aims to boost legitimate pharmaceutical exports while strengthening regulatory oversight and preventing the diversion of pharma products. Key elements of the MoU include the development of a Voluntary Code of Conduct, trade facilitation, capacity building through joint workshops, and a framework for information sharing. The collaboration intends to support the Ease of Doing Business framework, reduce dwell time for export authorizations, and ensure secure international supply chains for APIs, bulk drugs, and formulations.
