India Post Accelerates Digital and Infrastructure Transformation with Upgraded Dak MITRA and Dak Sewa Apps

The Department of Posts has launched upgraded Dak MITRA and Dak Sewa mobile applications and inaugurated 14 renovated Post Office buildings to modernize postal service delivery. Developed indigenously by the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT) under DoP IT 2.0 Modernization, Dak MITRA acts as a unified operational platform for over 1.4 lakh Branch Post Offices, allowing paperless and real-time doorstep transactions using Android-based handheld devices. Meanwhile, the Dak Sewa app provides citizens with 24x7 access to postal services across 23 Indian languages via BHASHINI. Additionally, infrastructure modernization is being carried out using a Design Manual created in collaboration with the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi.
