From Financial Constraints to PhD Completion: How NFSC Support Strengthened Shubhankar Ghorai’s Academic Journey

Shubhankar Ghorai, a 31-year-old scholar from West Bengal, successfully completed his Ph.D. after overcoming financial constraints through assistance received under the National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC) Scheme. Beginning in February 2020, the NFSC support provided him with a fellowship, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and contingency assistance. According to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, this timely financial support helped reduce economic stress, manage academic expenses, improve research skills, and build confidence for his professional growth and career development.
