AIIA Launches “GARBHINI MITRA” Course to Strengthen Ayurveda-Based Maternal Wellness Support

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi, operating under the Ministry of Ayush, has introduced the 'Garbhini Mitra' course for the 2026–2027 academic session. This structured, six-month offline healthcare skill-development programme is designed to train personnel to provide health education, lifestyle guidance, and community-level support to women during pregnancy and the postnatal period. The curriculum draws on traditional Ayurvedic concepts such as Garbhini Paricharya, Sutika Paricharya, and Garbhadhana Vidhi, alongside practical training in dietetics, yoga, basic life support, and workplace safety. The course is aligned with Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) guidelines and aims to complement routine clinical antenatal care by supporting community maternal health awareness.
