NCSK Celebrates Its 33rd Foundation Day; Over 900 Safai Karamcharis, Other Stakeholders Participated In the Event

The National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) celebrated its 33rd Foundation Day in New Delhi. Union Ministers and Commission officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety, security, dignity, and welfare of Safai Karamcharis, emphasizing the complete elimination of hazardous manual scavenging and the promotion of mechanized sanitation. During the event, data regarding sewer and septic tank deaths was discussed, noting that compensation has been provided to 1,223 families out of 1,377 reported cases, and FIRs have been registered in 750 cases. The NCSK also launched a missed-call facility number for registering grievances and released its Annual Calendar-2026, alongside felicitating outstanding sanitation workers.
