BRICS Sports Ministers Adopt Joint Declaration at Visakhapatnam Meeting

The BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting 2026 concluded in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with the adoption by consensus of the BRICS Sports Joint Declaration under India’s BRICS Chairship. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya called for a tangible BRICS Sporting Partnership covering athlete and coach exchanges, joint competitions, and sports science. Three key initiatives advanced during India's Chairship include the BRICS Working Group on Sports Technology, the inaugural BRICS Sports Manufacturing Conclave proposed for Udaipur in November 2026, and the BRICS Traditional and Indigenous Sports Demonstration Games proposed for Ahmedabad in October 2026. The meeting aligned with India’s BRICS Chairship theme of 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.'
