Textiles Committee Celebrates 62nd Foundation Day; Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh Calls for Zero-Defect Manufacturing, Traceability and Environmental Conformity
The Textiles Committee, a statutory body under the Ministry of Textiles established under the Textiles Committee Act, 1963, celebrated its 62nd Foundation Day in Mumbai. During the event, the Union Minister of Textiles emphasized zero-defect manufacturing, traceability, and environmental conformity in line with the 5F Vision (Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, Fashion to Foreign) and the Viksit Bharat 2047 objective. Discussions highlighted the Committee's initiatives in quality standardization, export facilitation, GI protection, digital traceability (QR and NFC technologies), green chemistry through the UNIDO-GEF project, and national branding frameworks such as Handloom Mark, India Handloom Brand, Jute Mark India, Bharat Wool Mark, and Pashmina Mark.
