PIB Maharashtra-Goa Region Organises Press Tour for Journalists from Maharashtra’s Aspirational Districts to ICAR-IARI

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Maharashtra-Goa Region, organized a press tour for journalists from Maharashtra's Aspirational Districts (Gadchiroli, Washim, Dharashiv, and Nandurbar) to the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) in New Delhi. The visit focused on agricultural research, technological advancements, and innovations to address challenges in Indian agriculture. Discussions covered the transformation of India into a food-surplus nation, the role of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan and ICAR-IARI in the Green Revolution, addressing declining soybean productivity in moisture-stressed areas, and regulatory frameworks for genetically modified food crop research and genome editing. The journalists also visited protected cultivation, integrated farming systems, and natural farming facilities.
