Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) projects worth ₹189 crore in Siliguri, West Bengal. During his address, he highlighted the strategic importance of the Siliguri Corridor and the deployment of the SSB along open, unfenced borders with Nepal and Bhutan under the 'One Border, One Force' policy. He also noted recent land allocations for security forces in West Bengal, discussed the 'Saptadhara' national empowerment framework, referenced infrastructure initiatives such as the Delhi-Siliguri high-speed rail corridor and the Vibrant Villages Programme, and highlighted parliamentary steps regarding the national song 'Vande Mataram'.
