14th India-Nepal Joint Working Group Meeting Held in Dehradun

The 14th meeting of the India-Nepal Joint Working Group (JWG) was held on 20–21 August 2026 in Dehradun. The Indian delegation was led by Ms. Pausumi Basu, Joint Secretary (BM-I), Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Nepali delegation was led by Mr. Ananda Kafle, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs. Both sides reviewed bilateral cooperation on border management and security, discussing trans-border crimes, border infrastructure such as Integrated Check Posts, roads, and railway networks, removal of encroachments, and maintenance of boundary pillars. They agreed to enhance institutional coordination and capacity building, with the next meeting scheduled to be held in Nepal.
