Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated an exhibition on the three new criminal laws—the Naveen Nyaya Sanhitas—in Siliguri, West Bengal. During the event, attended by dignitaries including West Bengal Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari, the Home Minister stated that the new laws incorporate technology, transparency, and timelines (such as e-FIR, Zero FIR, mandatory forensic investigations, and electronic evidence) to make the justice system victim-centric and swift. He addressed state-level governance issues, alleging that the previous administration delayed implementing the new laws to protect a syndicate, cut-money, and toll-tax culture, while commending the current state government's actions on border security land allocation, welfare measures, and anti-corruption toll-free helplines.
