Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda Reviews H1N1 Influenza Preparedness; Emphasises Vigilance and Robust Surveillance

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri JP Nadda, reviewed the country's H1N1 Influenza preparedness and epidemiological situation, with a specific focus on the National Capital, in a meeting attended by Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh and other senior officials. The review covered national surveillance, Influenza-like illness (ILI), Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) trends, laboratory testing, and healthcare facility readiness. The Minister emphasized robust surveillance, early detection, adequate surge capacity in hospitals, public awareness regarding hygiene, and coordinated efforts involving local bodies and public representatives for the control of seasonal diseases including Dengue, Malaria, and TB.
