DFS Concludes Two-Day Workshop on Enhancing Accessibility of Financial Services for Divyangjans
The Department of Financial Services (DFS), operating under the Ministry of Finance, concluded a two-day workshop in Bengaluru on 20–21 August 2026, held in association with the Union Bank of India. The workshop focused on improving the accessibility of financial services for Divyangjans (Persons with Disabilities) across Public Sector Banks, Public Sector Insurance Companies, Sectoral Regulators, and Public Financial Institutions. Officials and representatives from regulatory bodies such as the RBI, PFRDA, and IRDAI participated alongside banking and financial sector executives. The event included sessions highlighting the Sugamya Bharat initiative, legal provisions regarding accessibility, and practical insights shared by accessibility experts and Divyangjan employees.
