29 FDI Investments Worth ₹4,895.65 Crore Reported Under Revised Framework
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry reported that a total of 29 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) investments worth ₹4,895.65 crore have been reported under the revised framework up to 20 August 2026. These investments span sectors such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Data Centres, and Transport Services, originating from jurisdictions including Mauritius, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Luxembourg, and the Cayman Islands. The revised framework, introduced via Press Note 2 of 2026 and amendments to the Foreign Exchange Management (Non-debt Instruments) Rules, 2019, facilitates investments with non-controlling beneficial ownership from land-bordering countries of up to 10% through the automatic route, removing prior government approval requirements.
