Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu flags off Transshipment Cargo Operations at Delhi's IGI Airport

Union Minister for Civil Aviation flagged off the scaled-up phase of India’s transshipment cargo reform at Delhi International Airport Limited’s Transshipment Excellence Centre. The reform removes the mandatory re-screening of transshipment cargo, which previously served as a key bottleneck, thereby reducing turnaround time, handling costs, and congestion. Following a successful Proof of Concept on the Chennai–Delhi–Frankfurt route which reduced transit time from 60 to 20 hours, the initiative has been expanded to four new domestic origins and two new international destinations. The government aims to position India as a global cargo transshipment hub.
