OFFICER TRAINEES OF INDIAN INFORMATION SERVICE AND INDIAN STATISTICAL SERVICE CALL ON THE PRESIDENT

Officer trainees of the Indian Information Service (IIS) and the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) called on the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Addressing the trainees, the President highlighted that while both services perform distinct functions, they share a common purpose in strengthening governance and public service. For IIS officers, she emphasized the importance of accurate communication, leveraging social media to listen and respond to public concerns, and countering misinformation. For ISS officers, she stressed the critical role of accurate, timely, and credible data in evidence-based policy-making, maintaining statistical integrity, and making statistics accessible to citizens, researchers, and policy-makers to support India's journey toward Viksit Bharat.
