Raksha Mantri flags-off NCC’s All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek ‘Aparajita - Parang La 2026’

The Raksha Mantri flagged off the National Cadet Corps' (NCC) All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek, 'Aparajita - Parang La 2026', in New Delhi. Led by women officers from the three Services, 28 girl cadets with an average age of 19 are undertaking a 30-day, 250-kilometer trek across the Parang La Pass at 5,578 meters, connecting Himachal Pradesh's Spiti Valley with Ladakh's Changthang region. The expedition aims to promote women's empowerment ('Nari Shakti'), leadership, mental resilience, teamwork, and national integration ('Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'). Participants were advised to prioritize safety, protect the Himalayan ecology through a zero-waste approach, and engage respectfully with local communities.
