Major Settlement Benefitting 423 Contract Workers at Ordnance Factory, Kanpur Through Conciliation Efforts of Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Kanpur

A wage-related dispute involving 423 contract workers at the Ordnance Factory in Kanpur under Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) was resolved through the intervention of the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Kanpur. Following conciliation efforts, the contractor disbursed approximately ₹50,00,000/- towards outstanding wages for June and July 2026. Additionally, the Principal Employer released the contractor's pending bill for May 2026. This intervention successfully averted a proposed strike, prevented disruption of industrial operations, and promoted industrial peace and harmony by sensitizing management to statutory labour welfare obligations.
