Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Lead ‘Sapt Dhara of Shakti’ Pledge at Pusa on August 18

Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will administer a pledge at the Pusa campus on 18 August, translating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sapt Dhara of Shakti’ – outlined in his Independence Day address – into a roadmap for agriculture and rural development towards a ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The meeting will focus on expanding the Lakhpati Didi programme from the current three crore rural women to six crore, strengthening women‑led enterprises through initiatives such as She‑Marts, and reinforcing commitments on subsidised fertiliser supply and self‑reliance in essential inputs.
