DAE-Nurtured Yuva Shakti Honoured at the Red Fort as International Olympiad Achievers 2026 Join the 80th Independence Day Celebrations as Special Guests
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) highlighted that young Indian medallists of the International Science and Mathematical Olympiads 2026 were honoured as Special Guests at the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort. The students, who secured 12 gold and 7 silver medals across physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics, represent the nation’s ‘Yuva Shakti’ and the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’. Their participation underscores the role of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE)—a National Centre of TIFR under DAE—as the nodal agency for the Olympiad programme, which provides multi‑stage selection, training and mentoring. Interactions with senior officials, including the Minister of State (PMO) and the Secretary of DAE, further emphasize government commitment to nurturing scientific talent.
