DLI Scheme-backed Chip Design Startup - Aheesa Digital Innovations Achieved First-Pass Silicon Success With ‘VIHAAN’, a Broadband Chip Built Using the Indigenous VEGA Microprocessor

Aheesa Digital Innovations, a Chennai‑based fabless startup backed by the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, achieved first‑pass silicon success with its VIHAAN broadband System‑on‑Chip, a fibre‑broadband solution built on the indigenous VEGA microprocessor. The company raised about ₹40 crore from the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation’s Emerging Sector Seed Fund and other investors. Under the DLI Scheme, Indian firms have collectively completed over 30 chip‑design tape‑outs and attracted more than US$100 million in venture funding. The government’s broader semiconductor initiatives, including the Semicon 2.0 programme with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore, aim to build a full‑value‑chain ecosystem and enhance self‑reliance.
