Goa’s Central Government Institutions Celebrate 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

On 15 August 2026, several central government institutions in Goa marked the 80th Independence Day with flag‑hoisting ceremonies, Guard of Honour and cultural programmes. At Goa International Airport, Airport Director Flt Lt Akash Deep hoisted the flag and praised staff for smooth passenger services. The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Mormugao, saw Director Dr. Thamban Meloth unfurl the flag, sing the anthem and highlight the centre’s scientific progress. Doordarshan Goa’s Deputy Director General Shri Sandeep Srivastava also hoisted the flag, followed by reflections on the freedom struggle by senior staff. The events underscored patriotism and dedication across diverse government establishments.
