NTPC WR-I Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Pride and Renewed Commitment to Nation Building
On 15 August 2026, NT Power’s Western Region‑I (WR‑I) marked the 80th Independence Day at its Mumbai residential complex. Regional Executive Director Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar hoisted the flag, highlighted NTPC’s role in national energy security and noted that the NTPC Group now has 90 GW of installed capacity with over 37 GW under construction. The Group has commissioned 12.48 GW of renewable capacity, has 16.2 GW renewable projects under construction and aims for 60 GW renewable capacity by 2032. WR‑I generated 7.85 billion units in Q1 FY 2026‑27 (7 % growth) and achieved 100 % billing realization for FY 2024‑25 and FY 2025‑26. The region is implementing 59 CSR projects worth ₹139.08 crore across five states, including the Girl Empowerment Mission (243 girls) and a cancer‑awareness programme with Tata Memorial Centre. Cultural events and a fancy‑dress competition added a patriotic dimension to the celebrations.
