Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Gives Clarion Calls for India’s Next Leap Towards Viksit Bharat in 80th Independence Day Address

In the 80th Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, urging accelerated reforms across government, industry, agriculture and defence. He introduced the ‘Sapt Dhara’ framework comprising seven focus areas – manufacturing, agriculture and food, technology and innovation, Gati Shakti connectivity, defence self‑reliance, green and blue economy, and soft‑power promotion. The PM called for higher ambition targets such as 50 Indian firms in the Fortune 500, a top‑five Indian bank, and global leadership in pharma, law and technology. He also appealed for a drug‑free nation, women’s 33 % reservation, youth participation in the Census, and a quality‑centric work culture.
