ADDRESS TO THE NATION BY THE HON’BLE PRESIDENT OF INDIA SMT. DROUPADI MURMU ON THE EVE OF THE 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the nation on the eve of the 80th Independence Day, praising citizens, the armed forces and the diaspora. She highlighted achievements such as lifting more than 25 crore people out of poverty, enrolling nearly 59 crore accounts under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (over 32 crore women), ensuring food security for over 80 crore people, providing free health coverage to 60 crore under Ayushman Bharat, and supporting farmers through Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Credit Cards. She noted India’s digital payments dominance, rapid infrastructure growth, and progress in renewable energy, while reaffirming commitments to women’s empowerment, youth employment, senior‑citizen welfare, and environmental conservation.
