Aatmanirbhar Bharat: MoD inks Rs 1,577 crore contracts for Loiter Munition Systems for Indian Army

The Ministry of Defence signed contracts worth approximately Rs 1,577 crore with Tata Advanced Systems Limited and NIBE Private Limited for Loiter Munition Systems, munitions and accessories for the Indian Army. The agreements were executed in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh on 14 August 2026. The systems are intended to enhance artillery regiment capabilities and are being procured under the ‘Buy (Indian)’ category via a Fast Track Procedure, thereby strengthening domestic defence manufacturing and supporting the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
