Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia Inaugurates First-Ever Drone Delivery of Tiranga by India Post

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, delivered the National Flag (Tiranga) by drone from Mandi Head Post Office to Rehardhar Branch Post Office in Himachal Pradesh on the eve of Independence Day. The event was inaugurated virtually by Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, who highlighted the symbolism of overcoming geographical barriers and linked the initiative to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The drone delivery showcases the use of emerging technology to strengthen last‑mile connectivity in remote terrains. The department plans to deploy drone‑based mail transmission on 150 identified routes in Himachal Pradesh and Assam, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of a technologically advanced, inclusive ‘Viksit Bharat’.
