Partition saw one of the largest mass migrations in human history, says Vice-President on the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

Vice‑President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed a national seminar on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, organised by the Centre for Independence and Partition Studies, University of Delhi, and ICHR. He highlighted that the 1947 Partition involved one of the largest mass migrations in human history and caused widespread displacement, loss of civilisational sites and enduring disputes. The Vice‑President praised the Centre’s effort in recording oral testimonies of over a hundred survivors and urged that the tragedy be remembered to foster unity, responsible leadership and national security. He also felicitated 15 survivors and administered a ‘No Drugs’ pledge to students.
