LIST OF IAF HONORARY RANKS AWARDED ON THE OCCASION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY 2026

The Ministry of Defence released a Press Information Bureau note on 14 August 2026 listing honorary commissions in the Indian Air Force (IAF) conferred on Independence Day 2026. The release states that 82 personnel were awarded the honorary rank of Flight Lieutenant, 328 were awarded honorary Flying Officer rank, and 7 honorary Flying Officers were granted the rank upon retirement.
