Software Technology Parks Strengthen India’s IT Export Ecosystem and Ease of Doing Business

The Ministry of Electronics & IT reports that Software Technology Parks (STP) under the STP Scheme – a 100 % export‑oriented programme – recorded total exports of ₹7.73 lakh crore in FY 2025‑26, up from ₹6.36 lakh crore in FY 2023‑24. The number of STP units rose to 2,125 in FY 2025‑26. State‑wise, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu together contributed over ₹8 lakh crore in exports. STPI has streamlined approvals through automation of statutory services, integrated its online system with RBI’s Export Data Processing and Monitoring System, and replaced case‑by‑case import permissions with blanket permissions, thereby enhancing ease of doing business for IT exporters.
