Government Strengthens Cyber Security Preparedness of Central Government Digital Platforms and Citizen Services
The Ministry of Electronics & IT reported that the government has intensified cyber‑security preparedness for central digital platforms and citizen services. CERT‑In, designated under Section 70B of the IT Act, recorded 1,592,917 incidents in 2023, 2,041,360 in 2024 and 2,944,248 in 2025. Institutional mechanisms such as the National Cyber Security Coordinator (NCSC), National Cyber Coordination Centre (NCCC), and National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) have been set up. Additional measures include the Cyber Swachhta Kendra, sector‑specific CSIRTs (Finance and Power), a Cyber Crisis Management Plan, regular mock drills, and a panel of 237 information‑security audit firms. Awareness initiatives comprise 6,650 ISEA workshops (over 1.137 million participants) and multiple national cyber‑awareness events, while CERT‑In delivered 32 and 13 training programmes in 2025‑2026 covering 20,799 and 12,109 participants respectively.
