“One Herb, One Standard” to Strengthen Quality and Credibility of Traditional Medicines: Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav

The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) have renewed a three‑year Memorandum of Understanding to implement the “One Herb, One Standard” initiative. The MoU, signed in the presence of Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav, aims to develop uniform, scientifically robust quality standards for single‑plant drugs used in Ayurveda, Siddha, Sowa‑Rigpa, Unani and Homoeopathy. Building on an earlier 2022 MoU that produced 50 monographs, the renewed partnership will expand harmonised standards, address stakeholder confusion, improve international acceptance, and facilitate ease of doing business for manufacturers and exporters while safeguarding India’s biodiversity.
