On Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s appeal, members of Vriksh Mitra Parivar to undertake plantation drive across the country on the auspicious occasion of ‘Hariyali Amavasya’; over 50,000 saplings to be planted
On the occasion of Hariyali Amavasya (12 August 2026), Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lead a plantation drive at the PBG Ground, Central Range, near Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, alongside hundreds of colleagues. In response to his appeal, members of the Vriksh Mitra Parivar across villages, cities and panchayats nationwide will collectively pledge to plant over 50,000 saplings. The initiative seeks to promote environmental conservation by encouraging each participant to plant at least one tree and to cascade the pledge to five additional persons, thereby creating a broader people‑led movement. Participants are urged to upload photographs of their planting activities on the minister’s website to document the campaign.
