STATUS OF PM-MKSSY
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah‑Yojana (PM‑MKSSY), a central‑sector sub‑scheme under PMMSY for FY 2023‑24 to FY 2026‑27 with an estimated outlay of ₹6,000 crore. The scheme aims to formalise the unorganised fisheries sector via the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP), improve access to institutional finance, strengthen cooperatives, provide one‑time incentives for aquaculture insurance, and grant performance‑based support to micro‑enterprises and village‑level organisations. As of 06‑08‑2026, 35.92 lakh fishers/farmers have registered on NFDP; 3,829 cooperatives are approved for strengthening (₹72.75 crore); 2,294 ha of aquaculture insurance covered with OTI of ₹40.03 lakh; 535 loans sanctioned (₹28.04 crore); and 84 performance‑grant applications approved (₹20.55 crore), of which ₹4.33 crore has been released to 21 beneficiaries. State‑wise data show 20.09 lakh small and micro fisheries enterprises supported across 34 states/UTs.
