PROMOTION OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN AYUSH SYSTEMS

The Ministry of AYUSH is implementing the Ayurgyan Scheme (FY 2021‑22 onward). Under its Research & Innovation and Ayurveda Biology Integrated Health Research (ABIHR) components, 11 high‑end Ayurveda projects received Rs 58.28 crore (FY 2023‑24 to 2025‑26) and 73 other research projects received Rs 11.82 crore in the last three years. All AYUSH research councils (CCRAS, CCRH, CCRUM, CCRS, CCRYN) conduct clinical, drug‑validation and public‑health research, with fund utilisation details shown in the annexure. Internationally, AYUSH collaborates with WHO on ICD‑11 Traditional Medicine Module‑2, WHO terminologies, benchmark documents, and a Global Traditional Medicine Centre. Bilateral MoUs with institutions in Germany, USA, Canada, UK, South Africa, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Iran, UAE and Indonesia support research, education and quality‑assurance activities.
