NFDC-National Film Archive of India, FIPRESCI-India and Pune International Centre Announce ‘Cinemas of India’ Film Festival

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, through NFDC‑National Film Archive of India (NFDC‑NFAI), FIPRESCI‑India and Pune International Centre, will hold the second edition of the ‘Cinemas of India’ film festival in Pune from 21‑23 August 2026. Curated by film critic Premendra Mazumdar, the three‑day event will screen ten contemporary Indian films in languages such as Magadhi, Karbi, Rajasthani, Mising, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi and Hindi, highlighting linguistic and cultural diversity. The festival is free, with admission on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and aims to promote film appreciation, critical discourse and cultural exchange among audiences, students, researchers and filmmakers.
