SAMARTH SCHEME

The Samarth Scheme (Scheme for Capacity Building in Textiles Sector) of the Ministry of Textiles funds implementing partners directly, without state‑ or district‑wise allocations. From FY 2017‑18 to March 2026, allocated funds ranged from Rs 100 crore to Rs 331 crore, with total releases of Rs 100 crore to Rs 260 crore. The scheme has trained 6.17 lakh beneficiaries, of whom 5.17 lakh have been placed. In Rajasthan alone, 27,497 beneficiaries were placed, including 23,102 women, 10,727 SC and 4,753 ST candidates. A total of 370 implementing partners (327 industry/associations, 38 government agencies, 5 sectoral organisations) have been empanelled, with training targets rationalised or cancelled for several partners based on performance.
