ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR STARTUPS

The Ministry of Textiles, through its National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), has allocated Rs 256 crore for FY 2026‑27, part of which funds the GREAT scheme to support start‑ups in technical textiles. In the current year, 31 start‑ups have been approved for grants totalling Rs 15.40 crore (government share Rs 13.65 crore). An Evaluation and Monitoring Committee evaluates proposals and forwards recommendations to the Empowered Programme Committee. The scheme aims to translate research into commercial products, foster industry‑start‑up collaborations, and generate employment in the technical textiles sector. Detailed project titles and approved costs are listed, covering areas such as high‑performance fabrics, smart textiles, sustainable processing, and defence‑related composites.
