Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal awards top buyers and sellers on GEM platform at the 10th Anniversary celebrations of GEM
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry marked the 10th anniversary of the Government e‑Marketplace (GeM) on 9 August 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted five priorities for the next decade: expanding last‑mile access via Suvidha Kendras, deeper use of artificial intelligence for price intelligence and marketplace integrity, integration of states, public enterprises, panchayats and cooperatives, greater focus on credit and sustainability through GeM Sahay and TReDS linkages, and university outreach. GeM now hosts over 25 lakh sellers and 1.37 lakh buyer organisations, facilitating cumulative procurement of more than ₹20 lakh crore through 3.78 crore orders. The platform has 12.28 lakh MSEs (45.6 % of GMV) and 2.24 lakh women‑led MSEs, and has launched a custom ‘My Stamp’ and a nationwide help‑desk short code 14550.
