New-Age Skills Under PMKVY

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship reported that PMKVY 4.0, a demand‑driven scheme, has released ₹2,392.37 crore for implementation from FY 2022‑23 through FY 2026‑27. Under the scheme, more than 600 new‑age and futuristic courses (AI, Robotics, IoT, Semiconductor, Drone, Solar, 3D Printing, etc.) have been introduced and, as of 30 June 2026, about 5.44 lakh candidates have been trained in these areas. The scheme is inclusive, providing special projects for SC/ST/Women/PwD, boarding‑and‑lodging, transport costs, ₹5,000 assistive‑device support and one‑year accidental insurance. State/UT‑wise training numbers for the last five years and FY 2026‑27 are detailed in the annexure.
