CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO MAURITIUS TO STRENGTHEN BILATERAL MARITIME COOPERATION

Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, is on a four‑day official visit to Mauritius from 10 to 13 August 2026. The visit aims to deepen bilateral maritime cooperation and defence ties. During the trip he will meet senior Mauritian officials to discuss maritime security, defence cooperation, capacity building and military collaboration. The engagement seeks to strengthen Indo‑Mauritius cooperation in the maritime domain, enhance operational‑level linkages and consolidate the strategic partnership. The Indian Navy regularly interacts with Mauritius’ National Coast Guard through training exchanges, joint EEZ surveillance, port visits and hydrographic surveys, and both nations participate in multilateral forums such as the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, MILAN, International Fleet Review, Goa Maritime Conclave, IOS SAGAR and Exercise AIKEYME, reflecting the MAHASAGAR vision.
