Runway Excursion Incident Involving Cessna C172 trainer Aircraft at Baramati Airfield, Maharashtra

On 09 August 2026 at about 12:25 PM, a Cessna C172 trainer (registration VT‑SEX) operated by Academy of Carver Aviation, a DGCA‑approved flying training organisation, experienced a runway excursion at Baramati Airfield, Maharashtra. During a circuit and landing emergencies training, the aircraft performed rejected‑take‑off exercises on Runway 29 and Runway 11, but failed to stop within the paved surface and veered off beyond the threshold of Runway 29. No injuries or fatalities occurred, though the propeller, engine cowling and nose‑landing gear sustained prima facie damage. The DGCA Air Safety team is conducting a preliminary investigation to determine causes and contributing factors.
